Law of Eschatological Convergence

Core idea: Religious “end of the world” scripts function as operating systems for civilizations. By mapping the extreme eschatological factions of different religions and finding where their scripts intersect, you can predict how major geopolitical actors will coordinate to force future events into existence.

The Logic

This law sits at the intersection of the universal-law-of-game-theory and religious studies:

  1. Eschatology as operating system. Religious end-times narratives aren’t passive beliefs - they’re action scripts. They tell believers what must happen, in what order, and what role they must play.

  2. Extreme factions drive the mainstream. You don’t need the majority to believe in the eschatological script. You need a committed minority that uses the script as a “vector board” to pull the mainstream in their direction. chabad-lubavitch, Christian Zionists, and Shia apocalypticists are each small minorities that disproportionately influence their civilizations’ foreign policy.

  3. Convergence = prediction. When multiple civilizations’ scripts require the same event at the same location, that event becomes overwhelmingly likely - not because prophecy is true, but because powerful actors from multiple directions are all working to make it happen.

  • Islam: The destruction of Al-Aqsa (to build the Temple) is a casus belli that unites the entire Muslim world. This triggers the War of Gog and Magog.

Key Insight

Prophecy is self-fulfilling when the actors with the means to fulfill it believe in it. The question isn’t “is the Third Temple prophecy true?” The question is: “are there nuclear-armed actors who believe it’s true and are working to make it happen?” The answer is yes, on all sides.
